FRANK JANKOWSKI was born November 23, 1868 in Charlub, Poland, the 8th child of CONSTANTIN JANKOWSKI and BARBARA FRACKOWIAK. He was baptized in the Catholic Church in Mchy, Poland on November 29, 1868. It is believed Frank immigrated to America in 1891, departing from Bremen, Germany, and arriving in Baltimore on May26th aboard the S.S. Gera. He would have been 22 years old at the time. THIS HAS NOT BEEN PROVEN.
Frank married Mary Lipinski on June 5, 1899 in Polonia, Portage County, Wisconsin, near Stevens Point. Mary was born in Wisconsin around July of 1878, the daughter of Martin Lipinski and Eva Klesmit. Martin had immigrated to America in 1872 and Eva in 1858.
It is unknown how Frank and Mary met, but they established a farm in Rolling township near Antigo. I am uncertain as to whether this farm was part of the original Jankowski homestead, or separate from it. The couple had 9 children, plus a set of stillborn twins. Many of the dates of these children are unknown at this time.
Mary Lipinski Jankowski died in 1937 at the approximate age of 59. Frank Jankowski died on December 31, 1951 at the age of 83. Both are buried in Queen of Peace Cemetery in Antigo.
