Katharina Jankowski and Antonius Baczkiewicz

Katharina was the 3rd child born to Constantin and Barbara Jankowski. One child, Ignatius, had already passed away when Katharina was born. So on November 20, 1859, she became the 2nd living child of Constantin and Barbara. There would be seven more children born into the family, and two more deaths. At the age of 21, Katharina married Antonius Baczkiewicz on September 11, 1881. They settled in Charlub and not much more than a year later, Joannes was born to the young couple. The birth record of Joannes is the last record found for this family so far. I feel certain there are other children born to them. By 1891, Constantin, Barbara, and all of their living children, except one, had immigrated to the New World. The one exception was Katharina. It is not known if her and Antonius ever immigrated to America. No records have been found to support that. But by the same token, no later records have been found in Poland either. It is one of my higher priorities to search for Polish records for this family. Stay tuned...more to come...
