Joseph Zielinski was born and died in Poland. The exact dates and locations have not yet been determined. On October 21, 1832, at the age of 20, he married Anna Kryniewska in Altmark, Poland. Anna was 26 at the time. The marriage record does not indicate where the couple were living prior to marrying, nor does it indicate the names of the parents of each. Birth and death information on Anna have also not yet been found.

Joseph and Anna had at least 4 children. All were born in Tillendorf, Poland, a small village located between Gross Waplitz and Schonweise.

Julianna was born on August 30, 1833, and no other information has been found on her.

Joseph was born on November 1, 1835. In 1858 he married Catharina Faltinowski in Tillendorf. The couple immigrated in May of 1881 through the port of Baltimore. Passenger list records have not been found - this information comes from Joseph's Naturalization Declaration of Intent. The couple settled in Menasha, Wisconsin, where both died. All indications are they never had any children. This was indeed very rare for this time period, and no reason is known.

John was born on June 7, 1839, also in Tillendorf. At the age of 22, he married Elizabeth Witkowski on May 12, 1862. John and Elizabeth gave birth to 7 children in Poland. The family immigrated to the United States aboard the S.S. Rhaetia, departing Hamburg on June 3, 1885. They arrived in New York City on June 17, 1885, and settled in Menasha, Wisconsin. In time, John and Elizabeth would become the grandparents of Lawrence.

Michael was born on August 20, 1842 in Tillendorf. No other information is known about him at this time.

There have been no records found indicating that Joseph and Anna ever immigrated to the United States. They would have been in their 70's when Joseph and John immigrated, which would've been difficult for them. Most likely, they died and are buried in Poland.

It is quite possible that Joseph and Anna had other children, whose records have not yet been found.
