Joseph Jankowski was born around 1795, the son of Lucas Jankowski and Anna Kaczmierczakow. His birthplace is not known for sure, but more than likely he was born in Czarkowo, Poland. Czarkowo has been confirmed as the birthplace of two of Joseph's younger siblings.
Constantia Roszynska was born around 1810, the daughter of Joannes Roszynski and Marianna Sniezeska. Her birthplace is also not known. It is possible that she was born in Zytowiecko, Poland - the location of Constantia and Joseph's marriage.
Joseph and Constantia were married in 1829 in Zytowiecko. Very soon afterwards, the couple settled in Czarkowo, and their first child, Franciscus, was born there on April 2, 1830. Constantin followed almost exactly a year later. Most assuredly, other children were born to the couple, but no other birth records have been located as of yet.
It is interesting to note that Franciscus and Constantin married one week apart. Constantin married first on October 17, 1852, while Franciscus followed on the 24th.
